Requirements for Getting Started
Basic requirements for participation
To compete in the StaplerCup—whether in a national or international qualifier or in the StaplerCup Finals—you must meet a few basic requirements:
- Forklift license: You must have a valid, official forklift license
- Minimum age: Participants must be at least 18 years old.
- Zero tolerance: Participation while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as well as the use of performance-enhancing substances, is strictly prohibited.
- Eligibility criteria: Employees of the KION Group (including Linde MH GmbH and its authorized dealers) are ineligible to participate in the Men’s and Women’s Forklift World Championship.
Safety first – safety & equipment
Safety is the top priority at the StaplerCup. Even when it comes to setting the best times—without the proper protective gear, you won’t be cleared to start.
- Work clothing: Wearing safety shoes and appropriate, form-fitting clothing is strictly required throughout the entire competition grounds.
- Fair play & referees: The referees’ instructions must be followed unconditionally and without objection. Their decisions on the course must be accepted as final.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an entry fee to participate?
No, participation in the regional qualifiers is generally free of charge. Any exceptions will be clearly communicated by the respective organizer.
Can I compete with my own forklift?
No. To ensure absolute equality of opportunity for all athletes, we provide top-maintained Linde vehicles at all tournaments.
How does the qualification process work for men and women?
For the Men's World Championship, the winners of the national and international qualifiers advance directly to the finals. For the Women's World Championship, the top 15 riders from all national and international qualifiers qualify, based on a ratio calculated from the number of participants and their final standings. In addition, the defending champions from the previous year in both disciplines are automatically seeded.
Is there a code of conduct?
Yes, at the StaplerCup, fair play applies both on and off the course. Under no circumstances may the event be used for religious, discriminatory, or racist statements or messages. Violations will result in immediate disqualification from the competition.
How do I register?
Registration is completed online via the website. On the website, you can register for international and German qualifier and freely choose at which domestic or international location you wish to participate.
